Wahana Gili Ocean fast boat started operating in 2010.  They started with one small boat but now have a fleet of 3 boats, the latest being a 100 seater that operates the route from Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan, Lombok and Gili Air.  This Indonesian owned and managed company is based in Bali and has rapidly become known as one of the more reliable local fast boat companies. The boats are all similar in design, facilites and safety equipment, the main difference being the size and number of seats.  Generally the management will choose which boats they are going to use depending on the number of passengers they need to transport on each trip each day.  This means that you never really know which boat you will travel on until you are boarding. Each day they have a morning and an afternoon departure to and from Bali to Gili Trawangan.  This is particularly useful for anyone arriving in Bali on a moring flight as you will be able to get to the Gilis if you are in Padang Bai at 12:30. This should be possible for all flights arriving before 10:30.  Also the late afternoon departure from Gili Trawangan to Bali is perfect for catching evening flights out of Bali. The 14:30 departure from Gili Trawangan should have you to the aiport by 18:00 - 18:30 at the latest. The Wahana fast boats depart from Padang Bai at 09:00 in the morning and again at 13:00 in the afternoon.  They head directly to Lombok (Teluk Nara) where they stop briefly to pick up and drop off passengers, arrival time is at approx 10:30 and 14:30.  They then head to Gili Trawangan arriving about 15 minutes later.  If there are passengers going to Gili Air the boat will also make a stop there either on the way or on the way back.  Wahana Gili Ocean include free hotel transfers to most areas in Souht West Bali, central Ubud and Candidasa area. For transfers out of these areas additional charges will apply and are payable on the day of travel.
