Blue Water Express Speed Boats
Blue Water Express operate 1 or 2 daily speed boats to Gili Trawangan depending on the season. The boats also stop in Lombok (Teluk Kodek) and Gili Air, both just 10 minutes away from Gili Trawangan. Speed boat to Gili Trawangan
Blue Water Express operates 1 or 2 daily return speed boat services from Bali to Gilli and to Lombok dependant on the season. They operate 2 boats, Blue Water Express III and Blue Water Express V. In low season their new boat Blue Water Express 7 departs from Serangan harbour in South West Bali at 08:00. This boat then stops briefly in Padang Bai to pick up passengers coming from Central and east Bali, before continuing to Lombok and the Gili Islands. NOTE: this service has two different ticket prices, one for Serangan and one for Padang Bai. In high season the early speed boat to Gili leaves from Serangan Harbour(Bali) at 08:00 and travels directly to Lombok and the Gili Islands. Hotel transfers are included in the price for the following areas: Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, Sanur, Denpasar, Airport, Umulas, Canggu, Kerobokan, Petintenget, Tanjung Benoa, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. Hotel pick up time is approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours before departure time. For pick-up outside the aforementioned free areas, payment of the transfer can be made on the day of travel. The costs of these pick-ups for the Serangan departure are per car based on max 4 pax per car:

In high season the second speed boat to Gili leaves from Padang Bai, there is free hotel transfer for Ubud central, Candi Dasa and Padang Bai itself. For other areas, an extra charge is applied (see charges below). If you´re staying in the Central Ubud or Candi Dasa areas then free pick-up up will be approximately 1-2 hours prior to departure time. Pick-ups will be approx 2 - 2 1/2 hours prior to departure from Kuta and Seminyak areas. Any additional fee is payable on the day you travel. If your hotel is outside of the transfer areas, or you are staying in North Bali and you would like Blue Water Express to pick you up the additional charge is typically between 350 - 450,000rps per car, if you fill in your hotel details during the booking process Blue Water will contact you to confirm these details prior to your date of travel. You can also find their contact details on your e-ticket. If you´re arranging your own transport then check-in time is half an hour before departure time. Serangan harbour is approximately 30 minutes by taxi from Kuta area, and Padang Bai is approx 1 hour from Ubud.
Note: The boat will stop momentarily in Lombok to pick up and drop off passengers. This journey is not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart or back problems, or infants under 2 years due to the occasional rough sea conditions.
Blue Water Express III
Launched in March 2009. This vessel runs as a back up to BWEX 5 and/or 7, when maintainance schedules require.

- EPIRB: Electronic Position Indicating Radio Beacon. When immersed in water the EPIRB automatically sends an SOS signal via satellite to the authorities, informing name of vessel and precise location. Continues to send signal for up to three days
- SOLAS standard life jackets for all passengers and crew
- Full set of distress flares in accordance with regulations
- GPS Navigational system
- Marine VHF ship-to-shore radio
- 4 throw rings
- Electric flushing toilet

Blue Water Express V
Came into service in 2013 runs all routes from Bali to Gili Trawangan, Lombok and Gili Air. The boat design is well suited to handle the waters of the Lombok strait.

Blue Water Express VII
The pride of the fleet, an impressive new boat launched in 2014. This fast, state-of-the-art and comfortable vessel runs all routes from Bali to Gili Islands and Lombok and has been designed specifically to handle the deep waters of the Lombok strait.
